Zakharova urges media to refrain from putting forward versions, hypotheses regarding situation with Durov

Questions on resolving the situation concerning the founder of the Telegаm social network Pavel Durov should be asked to lawyers, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, answering a question from News.ru about the possibility of exchanging Durov, as well as Russia's diplomatic steps to release him, Report informs.

“Specific questions on the strategy for resolving the situation should be asked to lawyers. We are informing about the actions of Russian diplomats literally online,” Zakharova noted.

She emphasized that in connection with Durov's detention in France, many versions have been put forward "from simply ordinary mystical to some kind of cosmic ones.”

“I see how many people and even mass media are trying to play out this information wave solely for the purpose of raising their own ratings, including retelling various versions, rumors, putting forward versions, hypotheses, making statements, absolutely without any basis. It seems to me that this should not be done either in this particular case or in similar cases,” Zakharova added.
